What helps in the first week after treatment

May 10, 2026

The first week after treatment is not the time to prove independence through sheer force. It is the time to reduce avoidable friction.

Make fewer decisions

Meals, meetings, sleep, movement, and check-ins should be visible before the week begins. A simple schedule lowers the number of vulnerable moments that have to be negotiated from scratch.

Structure is not control. Used well, it is relief.

Support works best when everyone knows what happens next, who to call, and what is outside their role.
